Wage: $21/hour
Weekdays, weekends, and some weeknights
Family Ministry Mission:
To know and become like Jesus in all we think, say, and do
Purpose of Position:
To support and coordinate the Kid’s Ministry at Northside Community Church (Nursery – Grade 7), ensuring a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for kids, volunteers, and families that contributes to our church’s mission of making disciples.
Reports to:
Pastor of Family Ministry
Provides Leadership to:
Kid’s Ministry, Volunteers and Parents
Key Ministry Relationships:

Core Responsibilities:

Weekend Ministry
-
Model a culture of discipleship through biblical teaching, mentorship, and relational engagement.

Assist in coordinating and overseeing the Northside Kid’s Ministry programming.

Ensure classrooms are set up, resources are ready, and volunteers are equipped.

Occasionally step in as classroom leader if needed.

Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Volunteer Care and Coordination

Help recruit, train, and schedule volunteers.

Provide ongoing encouragement and support for volunteer teams.

Assist with Safe Ministry screening and compliance.

Family Engagement and Discipleship
-
Support and help execute Northside kid’s ministry events (e.g., family nights, seasonal activities, kid’s camp).

Prepare children’s activities for intergenerational worship weekends.

Communicate with families about upcoming programs and resources.

Administrative & Team Collaboration
-
Assist with curriculum preparation and distribution.

Support budgeting, scheduling, and resource organization.

Attend Family Ministry planning meetings and staff check-ins as required.

Participate in Staff meetings.

Qualifications
-
Models a life that is rooted in the ways of Jesus and is guided by the Spirit.

Experience and passion for ministering to children.

Servant leader, with a commitment to recruiting and empowering lay leaders of all ages.

Strong written and oral communication skills
-
Team player, with a desire to grow personally and professionally.

General knowledge of kids’ development and learning styles.

Proficient computer skills using full MS Office Suite.
-
Post-secondary training within an education or ministry-related field is an asset.
-
Previous vocational experience within a ministry context is an asset.
